Throughout this semester, we will have an Arts Focus with visiting performers and artists to help our students explore their range of creativity. From music, to theater, to dance, to crafts, to paint -- we want to explore all of God's gifts. These will occur every other week, so check our Facebook page for announcements on featured artists! https://www.facebook.com/hillcrest.acts We have a Christmas performance, but there is lots of time to learn about musical notes, rhythms, play fun games, learn about projecting, acting, and our best lessons, learning God's purpose for all of us and how to use this to glorify Him. We can't wait to see God's children express how they are Anchored in Christ, Testifying through Song! If you have a child in Pre-K through 6th grade, A.C.T.S. music ministry is looking for participants for our Fall semester! Feel called to help? Have a talent in the arts to demonstrate? We are also looking for volunteers -- no experience is needed and everyone is welcome!
Join us to use music, art, and theater as a fun way for all kids to explore their gifts. Whether a church member or member of our community, come for food and fun, and learn more about this great free program at our kick-off Sept. 9th! Kick-off meeting: Sunday, September 9th at 5:30 PM Fall semester meetings: Sundays, 5:30 - 6:30 PM Sign up using the connection card, or visit http://hillcrest-acts.weebly.com/contact.html You can also email [email protected] or contact our children's minister Karen Oden at [email protected] We are changing things up with this play and pulling out some small groups for featured dancers in each song.
All ACTS members (including Pre-K) will dance to every song, but most students will have a particular song where they are featured center stage! (Pre-K gets a whole song of their own!) These groups are listed with our choreography videos. When practicing at home, maybe take some time with your kiddo to encourage practice in their featured song. Just visit the Music & Script page to view! (password is listed in your email and on your calendars) Email us with questions! Ms. Katie has been working hard on teaching choreography all semester! Here are some videos to practice with for those that want to feel more confident with extra practice. Just visit the Music & Script page to view! Solos were assigned right after Spring break, so if your kiddo needs help with words, remember the whole script (including lyrics) is linked above in the Music & Script page! Password is listed in your emails and calendar.
Congratulations to our hard-working soloists! Please take a moment to indicate whether the new performance dates work with your schedule and whether your kiddos will be out for the weekends of Spring Break.
Thank you so much for your time as this helps us prepare our rehearsal times to best meet the needs of our performers. Thank you! https://goo.gl/forms/lvi2hZQOswqQsix12 To make sure our performances did not conflict with any other program performance dates, we have moved our performance to be two weeks later, which actually mimics our schedule from last year. Take a moment to look over the new calendar, posted on the Meetings page!
A.C.T.S. starts back Sunday Jan. 21st and meets every Sunday from 5:15-6:45 in the Kids Rock room, C-136.
Kickoff Sunday will have games, acting, singing, food, and fun! Take a moment to sign-up, or just come on by: hillcrest-acts.weebly.com/contact.html We hope to see you there! LINKS TO NEW MUSIC AND COPY OF SCRIPT POSTED TO "MUSIC" PAGE.
Some of the songs were in a key that was a bit high, so we lowered the key. The YouTube videos are helpful for lyrics, but the second file uploaded with the media player for each song (except Emmanuel) will have the accurate key. Hope that helps with practice!
